Another successful evening at the Ingram household comes to a close. Posted by Hello

I had the most jacked-up weekend. Seriously, this one has to go down in the record books somewhere. Went to the Pit for a few drinks after work Friday, as we tend to do. It was two days after the now-legendary Tommy Stinson show at the Rhythm Room, and we were still talking about that for a little while Friday, and making plans for the rest of the weekend. Following on the heels of a successful evening at their house last weekend, we invited our friends Greg and Joanna over for dinner Saturday night for homemade Ravioli and a Canasta rematch.

They come over a little after 8:00 on Saturday. Dinner seemed to go well, and everything was great...until about 2:00 or so, when they went to leave... and found their car missing.

That's when everything turned to crap. Turns out that their car had been towed...by our homeowners association. Yes, that's right. In my experience, homeowners associations are a lot like oppressive third-world dictatorships, in that they do very cruel, ridiculous things to their citizens, often for arbitrary reasons. Like, for example, having your friend's car towed because it was parked on the street after midnight because they "don't like people parking on the street overnight". I truly hate this neighborhood.

We eventually get ahold of someone at about 3:30.. right after we drop Greg and Joanna off at their house. Turns out that it was all a big mistake on the part of the towing company that used to be contracted to do this sort of thing, and that the car was being brought back to us "right now". Mind you, this is about 3:30 in the morning. We go grab Greg and drag him back to our house, figuring that his car would be back there, safe and sound when we returned.

Four hours later... we're still sitting out in the driveway waiting for the towtruck to bring the car back. As you can see in the picture, it's clearly daylight when he finally showed up.
